Elevated Style: Hobo Bags

With two functional sizes, four classic colors, beautiful natural grain leather and a hint of brass hardware, Coach has ensured this bag is the season's favorite.

Banana Republic's Slouchy Tote is being quickly sold out of stores and online as the easy alternative for those who cannot get their hands on the coveted Coach Brooklyn Bag. To some, Banana Republic's is a better offering as it is more accessibly priced, comes in suede and more eye-catching colors than the Brooklyn Bag. This bag is however, made fully of vegan leather.

Where better to get a hobo bag than the brand Hobo? I mean, it is what they do and the options must be endless. Nevertheless, the Pier Shoulder Bag is their best contender in the battle for this season's most trendy fashion. It is their most sophisticated rendering of the brand's leading design.

Saint Laurent has mastered the art of creating trendy, well-loved styles of bags in the most classic ways. Their 5 À 7 supple grain leather small hobo bag is easily my favorite. Saint Laurent's iteration is one of the most uplifted depictions of a bag that was historically associated with derelicts.

Chloé is known for their easy going, bohemian, youthful aesthetic. Therefore, it comes as no surprise that they've always had a tasteful representation of hobo bags. Their Marcie line of hobo bags is most befitting for this season's trend. There are options of leather, raffia, tassel closures, uniquely placed metal hardware and different sizes.

Louis Vuitton is definitely a surprise in this category but their Low Key Hobo bag is anything but low key. Despite their description of a bag that embodies quiet luxury, I could not help but notice how stunning this bag is. Without laying hands on it, you can feel luxury exuding from the elegant slouching, calfskin leather and suede lined interior.

One of the most unique ways to participate in a fashion trend is to strip it to it's core and expose the heart of it all. The original hobo bag as a fashion piece, reportedly emerged as a more stylish take on the 1970s popular large, slouchy, unconstructed Halston Bag. Whilst they are no longer in production, Halston Heritage hobo bags are littered across vintage resale sites in every single variety one could possibly imagine.
